The government’s spending plans will face another test as lawmakers prepare to examine how the 2026/27 National Budget is being implemented.
Parliament will meet in Lilongwe from November 9 to December 11, 2026, for the mid-year budget review.
A statement issued by the Office of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sameer Suleman, says the meeting will give members of Parliament an opportunity to assess progress in implementing the current financial year’s budget.
The review comes as lawmakers prepare to examine how public resources are being used and whether the government is delivering on its budget commitments.
The meeting will be the fourth of the National Assembly in the 52nd Session of Parliament.
Apart from the budget review, legislators will consider Bills and other matters of national importance.
The Office of the Speaker has notified Cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, members of Parliament and the general public about the upcoming meeting.
