Malawi’s Miss World representative Irene Navicha is set to receive a special honour from her former school after making the country proud on the international stage.

Maranatha Academy says it is preparing to recognise Navicha for her impressive performance at the Miss World competition, where she finished among the Top 24 contestants globally and Top 6 from Africa.

In a statement issued by the school’s Director, Ernest Kaonga, the academy said it was proud of Navicha’s achievements at the international pageant.

Navicha is a former student of Maranatha Academy, where she completed her secondary education.

The school highlighted her performance in the competition’s charity-focused challenge, where she was selected among the Top 24 contestants from 111 participants.

She also stood out during the cultural wear segment, showcasing Malawian traditional attire and cultural dance on the global stage.

Maranatha Academy said Navicha’s achievements have brought pride to both the institution and Malawi.

The school has therefore resolved to give her a special honour in recognition of her accomplishments and contribution to raising Malawi’s profile internationally.
