Central Region football has landed a K300 million lifeline from Gojet Investments, a deal set to reshape grassroots competition, raise standards, and inject fresh energy into Division One and Division Two leagues over the next three years.
The sponsorship, unveiled in Lilongwe on Tuesday, will see K100 million released annually to the Central Region Football Association (CRFA), targeting league development, marketing, and wider fan engagement across the region.
Under the arrangement, K50 million will be channelled to Division One football each year, while K20 million will support Division Two leagues. A further K30 million has been allocated annually for marketing and promotional activities aimed at boosting visibility, attracting fans, and strengthening the commercial appeal of local football.
Gojet Investments says the decision to invest in football is driven by the sport’s power to unite communities and create social impact, while also strengthening the company’s presence in the market through wider brand exposure.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Gojet Investments Business Development Manager Brenda Chitete said football remains one of the most powerful tools for bringing people together.
She added that the partnership is also expected to create mutual value, with the company benefiting from increased visibility as it engages football fans across the Central Region and beyond.
CRFA General Secretary Antonio Manda welcomed the development, describing it as the biggest financial boost the association has ever secured and a major turning point for regional football development.
“We are extremely excited about this sponsorship agreement and deeply grateful to GOJET for making such a substantial investment in our association,” Manda said during the signing ceremony.
He said the funding goes beyond anything the association has received in its history, stressing that it signals a new era for football development in the Central Region.
Manda also credited CRFA Chairperson Goodall Chinjoka for strategic leadership that has strengthened the association’s credibility and attractiveness to corporate partners.
“The fact that Gojet has entrusted us with this level of support demonstrates confidence in the quality of work being conducted under our leadership,” he said.
