The Press Corporation Limited (PCL) Invitational Golf Tournament teed off at Blantyre Sports Club on Saturday, drawing more than 100 golfers as company executives emphasized the event’s role in fostering relationships and unwinding from demanding schedules.

PCL Chief Executive Officer Ronald Mangani described the annual tournament as an opportunity for the conglomerate and its partners to pause, reconnect, and reflect beyond the pressures of everyday business.

“This event helps us take time off from our busy schedules to reflect on life, interact, and enjoy the game of golf,” Mangani said.

Board Chairperson Randson Mwadiwa echoed the sentiment, stressing that the tournament is less about competition and more about building connections among participants.

He noted that while the better ball format offers a competitive element, the main objective is to encourage interaction rather than simply crown champions.

For host venue Blantyre Sports Club (BSC), the tournament represents continuity and promotes physical well-being.

BSC Chairperson Nathan Nkhata thanked PCL for its continued support, describing the invitational as an important fixture for both sport and corporate networking in Malawi.

The tournament brings together employees and executives from PCL’s listed companies and other stakeholders, using golf as a platform for conversations and connections that rarely take place in the boardroom.
