Peter Dimba, the former chairman of the anti-foreigner movement Operation Dudula, has passed away after a four-year battle with cancer. Dimba, a prominent figure in South Africa’s far-right movement, died on the night of May 12, 2026, at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa.

Dimba’s leadership of Operation Dudula had been marked by controversy, with the group frequently targeting illegal immigrants and blocking foreign nationals from accessing public infrastructure, including healthcare facilities. 

His dismissal as chairman in April 2026 by the movement’s president, Zandile Dabula, had sparked internal disputes within the organization.
