Masters FC goalkeeper Brighton Munthali has officially waved goodbye to the Lilongwe-based club after completing a transfer to Tanzania’s Mbeya City FC.
The shot-stopper trained with the team for the final time on Tuesday before bidding farewell to teammates, coaches and club officials.
Speaking after his last session, an emotional Munthali thanked everyone at the club.
“I would like to thank the management, coaches, my teammates and our supporters for the love and support they have shown me during my time at Masters FC.
“It has been a privilege to represent this great club, and I will always cherish the memories we have created together. I wish the team all the very best for the rest of the season and beyond,” said Munthali.
Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Moyo has praised Munthali’s professionalism and contribution during his spell at Masters.
“Brighton has been an outstanding professional and a great ambassador for Masters FC. We appreciate his contribution on and off the pitch, and he leaves with the club’s blessings.
“We wish him every success at Mbeya City FC and in the next chapter of his career,” said Moyo.
Munthali departs the club after taking charge of six FDH Premiership appearances for Masters FC in the 2026 season and kept two clean sheets including one Player of the match award.
Fellow teammates commended the goal stopper for his services and wished him success in Tanzania.
Munthali has left The team on fifth position with 17 points pocked from 11 games and has so far conceded 13 goals.
The team is set to face Civil Service United, Moyale Barracks FC, Blue Eagles and Red Lions to finish its first round of the premiership season.
