Masters FC supporters have been left wondering what is unfolding behind the scenes after a series of cryptic social media posts by forward Khuda Myaba and head coach Mjojo Mponda fueled speculation that all is not well behind scene.
The online exchange comes days after reports of a fallout between the two following Masters FC’s FDH Bank Premiership match against Mighty Wanderers last weekend, although neither the player nor the coach has publicly confirmed the alleged dispute.
The speculation intensified earlier this week when Myaba posted what many interpreted as a swipe at his coach.
“Coaching level yake aaaaaaa. Ine sungandikoche aise mwina ana akugona Sleeping sickness,” Myaba wrote.
He later followed it up with another cryptic message saying: “The boss will decide who to stay & who to leave. Ambiri akugona I’m a freedom fighter.”
In another post, the striker wrote: ” Ambiri akupembeza mafano koma ine sindipanga nawo zimenezo i belong to Jesus 🙏 tionesana kuti dolo ndani 🤣🤣 ambiri akugona.”
Myaba further raised eyebrows on Friday after appearing to bid farewell to the club.
“It was nice spending time with the boys @mastersfootballclub ambiri akugona 🤣,” he posted.
On Saturday, Mponda appeared to respond with a brief but pointed message on his Facebook page.
“A career without discipline is like a business without capital,” wrote the former Flames defender.
Minutes later, Myaba appeared to distance himself from claims that he had been attacking his coach, blaming social media users for fueling the speculation.
“Kod anthu ndinu asanje inu 🤣😂 ine sindinganyoze mponda ayi chifukwa ndamene Ana nditenga nde vuto la anthu Apa facebook makonda maboza ine sinatchule Dzina ayi koma vuto makonda kupanga judge khani 🤣🤣 ambiri akugona MPONDA IS DE BEST COACH 🐐🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣zaziii,” he wrote.
Despite Myaba’s latest clarification, the exchange has continued to spark debate among football fans, with many questioning whether the relationship between the player and his coach has broken down.
Neither Masters FC nor the two individuals had issued an official statement on the matter by the time of publication.
