Hip-hop artist Born Criss has sparked debate after calling out what he described as a clothing blunder in Fred Malawi’s newly released “Zepu” music video.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Born Criss said one model appeared in torn tights that looked damaged rather than intentional.

He warned that such styling details can hurt an artist’s image even when the song is strong and he advised Fred Malawi to pay closer attention to the dressing style since music videos now require high budgets and models charge premium rates.

Despite the criticism, Born Criss commended Fred Malawi for his artistry, including his fashion sense, vocal delivery, dance moves, and consistent video quality.

He acknowledged that Fred Malawi has improved compared to earlier work that once sounded like Gibo Pearson and repetitive.

Born Criss also encouraged Fred Malawi to take criticism positively because feedback shows that fans and peers are engaged with his music.
