“LEAVE MY DAUGHTER OR ELSE!” Kineo obliges, dumps Cecil’s daughter after explosive threats

Malawian musician Kineo has ended his relationship with Cecil Malunga’s daughter after a dramatic social media fallout that has gone viral across Malawi.

The relationship became the talk of Malawian social media after the couple shared romantic birthday surprises online. Cecil’s daughter first surprised Kineo with a decorated room and gifts before the artist returned the gesture with flowers and shoes as presents for her birthday. The two shared pictures together online, attracting massive attention from fans and bloggers.

However, the romance took a dramatic turn when the videos reached Cecil Malunga, who reacted angrily and demanded Kineo stay away from his daughter. In a now viral video, Cecil allegedly burnt the gifts Kineo had given his daughter while issuing a fierce public warning to the artist.

“Leave my daughter. I will burn your [expletives] like these shoes,” Cecil reportedly warned as he set the gifts alight on camera.

After days of silence, Kineo released a grovelling apology addressed directly to Cecil Malunga and his family.

“I would like to sincerely apologize for the pain and humiliation I have caused both to you and your family through my relationship with your daughter,” read part of the statement. Kineo who is signed with Madness Entertainment, admitted his actions were disrespectful and took full responsibility for the situation.

“I promise that I will never see or contact your daughter again. I am deeply sorry for the distress that I have brought into your home,” he added, confirming the end of the relationship.

The apology has since sparked massive reactions online, with many Malawians shocked by the dramatic ending of what had appeared to be a happy romance just days earlier. Cecil Malunga is yet to comment on the apology.
