Major 1 warns his team has identified those responsible and action is being taken

An image is circulating online involving Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and it has made Major 1 furious. The ECG founder has taken to Facebook to address the matter directly, describing the content as blasphemous and slanderous.

Bushiri says people are misusing artificial intelligence to fabricate images of him in a deliberate attempt to damage his reputation after failing to bring him down through other means.

“Please be cautious of blasphemous and slanderous content circulating online. Some individuals are misusing AI to create fake materials, including fabricated visuals involving our Prophet, in an attempt to damage his reputation after failing through other means. Our team has identified those responsible for these misleading accounts, and appropriate action is being taken,” Bushiri said on Facebook.

AI-generated image allegedly showing Prophet Shepherd Bushiri holding a glass of whisky
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri says a viral image allegedly showing him holding whisky is fake and generated using artificial intelligence.

The image in question shows a figure purporting to be Bushiri holding a glass of whisky — content that, if genuine, would be deeply controversial for a man of God with millions of followers across Africa. Bushiri insists the image is AI generated and does not represent him.

He urged his followers to verify information carefully before sharing. “We encourage everyone to verify information carefully and avoid spreading unconfirmed content. Please share this message to help protect others from falling victim to misinformation,” he added.

The whisky image is the latest in a series of online attacks against Bushiri, who is already fighting a legal battle in the UK against former ECG member Peter Sambo over Facebook posts his legal team describes as defamatory and libellous.
