Hip-hop artist Phyzix, real name Noel Chikoleka, is trending on Facebook after resurfacing following a three-month absence on social media.
The renewed attention followed a photo shared a few days ago showing him rocking a razor shave haircut style locally known as “mpala,” and the post quickly set the timeline ablaze.
As the buzz spread, George Mphatso Banda weighed in with a comment that many users seemed to embrace: “Finally Gamba is back, mpara symbolizing new beginning.”
From there, discussions deepened as people continued to read meaning into the new look and what it could signal.
In fact, social media users had previously urged Phyzix, also known as Gamba, to try the mpala haircut style, with many claiming that the shape of his hairline starting from the forehead would fit the razor-shave style.
It was as if the photo was a mirror reflecting the prediction, turning speculation into certainty.
Still, even when some people rallied against Phyzix’s head and threw jabs his way, he remained undaunted and responded with humor, like a seasoned performer who turns pressure into fuel.
At the same time, observers suggested his haircut change may have been strategic, especially since his professional role is in marketing, meaning the move likely served as a smart way to keep him in the spotlight.
Building on the momentum, Phyzix later announced that on April 24, 2026, he will release a new song titled “Pepusa.”
The promo reel has since gone viral, and the clip describes a message of standing against being “underestimated.”
To many fans, Phyzix’s influence is not new: he emerged in the music scene in the early 2000s with a song called “Cholapitsa,” and he continues to be an inspiration, a lighthouse for aspiring Malawian hip-hop artists.
