Tina Nkombezi, crowned Miss Malawi’s Second Princess, has taken her journey beyond national borders as she arrives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to compete in the first-ever Miss African Essence International pageant.
Bringing together contestants from over 20 African nations, the pageant is more than a beauty contest—it is a celebration of African identity, culture, and empowerment. For Nkombezi, the moment carries both excitement and a deep sense of duty.

Before her departure, she described the experience as a powerful opportunity to represent Malawi on a continental platform. Carrying the spirit of the “Warm Heart of Africa,” she aims to share the country’s rich culture, resilience, and renowned hospitality with the rest of the continent.
“This is bigger than competition for me,” she expressed. “It’s about telling Malawi’s story – our people, our values, and what makes the country unique”
Confident and focused, Nkombezi enters the pageant with a clear purpose. She sees the experience as a chance to grow, connect with other African queens, and learn from diverse cultures. Through fashion, storytelling, and her personal presence, she hopes to leave a lasting impression.
As Nkombezi begins her continental journey, she has called on Malawians for support, emphasizing that unity and encouragement could play a key role—especially if public voting is introduced. Her mission is clear: to represent Malawi with pride and ensure its story resonates across Africa.
