Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iranian speaker of Parliament, says Iran will shut the Strait of Hormuz if the US continues its naval blockade of Iranian ports.
The US warships are stopping Iranian ships from carrying Iranian oil or carrying goods, and Iran is failing to sell oil at the moment.
At this point, Iran is saying, if you block our ports, we will block the entire world, and everyone knows the consequences.
Consequently, if Iran chooses to close the Strait of Hormuz again, the move won’t only affect the US; everyone will feel the hit.
Oil prices will spike more than ever. Medicines, fertiliser, and other goods that pass through the Strait will no longer reach the masses on time, leading to a standstill of the entire world.
The US, on the other hand, is saying that Iran should stop its nuclear/military activities, saying the weapons made are being sent to groups like Hamas. However, Iran insists that the nuclear activities are for energy and medicine only.
Meanwhile, the US/ Israel maintain that Iran has accumulated enough uranium to make a weapon that could blow the world.
