In Nigeria, Dr. Ere Ogbachi reportedly died after developing complications following the delivery of triplets in Bayelsa State.
Her death was confirmed on Facebook by her brother, Meshack Sintei, who said she was later rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, where she died at about 2:45 a.m. on April 14, 2026.
Before then, family members said she delivered the triplets at Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH), Okolobiri.
However, complications reportedly set in shortly afterward, prompting an emergency transfer to ICU.
In the final moments, the family said doctors and medical experts made efforts to revive her, though her condition deteriorated rapidly.
They added that her oxygen saturation reportedly dropped sharply during the response.
At the time of her death, Dr. Ogbachi was a wife and mother of triplets, a medical doctor, and registrar at NDUTH. She was also affiliated with the Nigerian Medical Association and graduated from Niger Delta University.
As the report was filed, officials at the hospitals had yet to provide official confirmation.
