Moderator hosts luncheon for elderly, needy in Zomba

Elderly and needy individuals enjoy a community luncheon hosted by a moderator in Zomba.

Moderator Carlos Magombo of Chinamwali CCAP Church in Zomba recently hosted a luncheon for elderly and underprivileged individuals, aiming to promote unity, compassion, and love within the community.

The event, held at his residence near the church, was conducted under the theme “Feeding Program for the Moderator” and brought together about 50 invited guests.

Speaking during the gathering, Magombo explained that the initiative was part of his ministry and a form of evangelism.

He emphasized that spreading the message of the Bible goes beyond words, it also involves acts of kindness and care, especially toward the elderly and those in need.

He further appealed to well-wishers to support the initiative, noting that broader community involvement would help extend assistance to more people.

Importantly, the luncheon was inclusive, welcoming not only members of the CCAP Church but also individuals from other denominations and those not affiliated with any church.

“There are many groups willing to help, which is why I am asking well-wishers to come and join in this work of feeding the needy,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Jackson Tcharichi, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gesture, describing it as a meaningful act of evangelism that reflects the biblical teaching: “I was hungry and you gave me food.”

This marks the second time Moderator Magombo has organized such an event, reinforcing his ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.
