Christians from the Diocese of Lake Malawi of the Anglican Church have donated a 2025 Toyota Hilux Adventure worth K170 million to their bishop, the Right Reverend Daniel Kalonga, during a ceremony held today in Lilongwe.
The vehicle was handed over at the diocesan offices where church members gathered to witness the presentation.
Speaking after receiving the vehicle, Bishop Kalonga thanked members of the diocese for their support and generosity.
He said the gesture shows strong unity among Christians in the diocese.
Kalonga encouraged church members to continue working together and supporting development activities in the church.
Chairperson of the fundraising committee Simeon Mwale said the vehicle was bought from Cfao Mobility Malawi.
Mwale said the vehicle has also been comprehensively insured.
He added that the purchase was commissioned by the proposed Anglican Diocese of Central Malawi, which is still waiting to be fully established.
