FCB Nyasa Big Bullets regained top position in the TNM Super League following a 2-0 win over Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Playing a day after being dislodged by their rivals Mighty Wanderers, pressure was definitely on Bullets to deliver, and they did it in style as two first-half goals from Chikumbutso Salima and Babatunde Adepoju secured the win to take the People’s Team back on top of the standings.
The visitors should have completed the game in the first ten minutes as they created plenty of goal-scoring chances, with Babatunde hitting the post while Ephraim Kondowe missed chance after chance before being replaced at the end of the first half.
It took Salima 13 minutes to break the deadlock when he brilliantly slotted home to beat Charles Chisale, who was completely defenceless.

With three minutes to go before the recess, Babatunde doubled Bullets’ lead with a powerful header that beat Chisale from an excellent cross from Salima, who registered his 11th assist in the 2025 campaign.
After the recess, Bullets kept on pressing, with KB having no opportunity to attack their opponent’s box.
Babatunde almost pounced on the hosts, but Hastings Banda, who replaced Chisale, produced a save.Salima set up Hassan Kajoke, who was unmarked, but the forward blasted his effort over the crossbar.
The hosts’ chance came in the 61st minute when Innocent Nyasulu made a good save from an awkwardly bouncing ball to concede a corner, which was well defended by the visitors.
In the 64th minute, Babatunde got the better of Mike Mtonyo and found himself in a one-on-one situation with Banda, but the shot-stopper came out on top with a save.
There was another chance for the visitors when Sean McBrams made a good run before setting up Salima, who slipped before pulling the trigger.
In the additional minutes, Nyasulu produced a double save to deny the hosts from at least finding the back of the net.

As for the hosts, they have slipped further in their quest for a top-eight finish with 35 points from 26 games, and are 9th in the table.
