Kondwani Kachamba Ngwira, a prominent Malawian entrepreneur and social media influencer, has advised University of Malawi Computer Society (UNIMA-COMSoc) students to adopt an employer mindset rather than an employee one.

Speaking at an entrepreneurial talk at the Wadonda Lecturer theater in Zomba, Ngwira shared his experiences on business idea generation and overcoming challenges.

“Threats present themselves, but it needs patience and strategic thinking,” he said.

COMSoc President Eric Williams Sato welcomed the talk, citing the industry’s saturation and scarcity of jobs.

The society aimed to motivate students to think innovatively and view the industry as a market for business ideas.

Tawonga Chilongo, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Electronics student, praised the talk, saying it will help her apply electronics knowledge to create robust businesses.

“We develop innovations that solve social problems, but lacked the business mindset. We’ve learned how to embark on the journey,” she said. The talk drew students from various University of Malawi (UNIMA) programs, providing valuable insights into entrepreneurship and business idea generation.
