UTM appoints new parliamentary leadership

The United Transformation Movement (UTM) has announced key appointments to its parliamentary leadership team.

According to a letter signed by UTM Secretary General Willet Kalonga, Patricia Kaliati, a seasoned politician and Member of Parliament, has been appointed as the party’s Leader in parliament as Kenneth Ndovie, also an MP, will serve as her deputy.

Additionally, Felix Njawala has been appointed as the Chief Whip, while Edgar Kapalamula will serve as the Deputy Chief Whip in the August House.

In the letter, the party president, Dalitso Kabambe, expressed expectations that the leadership team will work together to effectively coordinate the party’s legislative agenda, ensure disciplined representation, and advance the voice and vision of UTM in Parliament.

The letter also urged UTM members to offer full support to the newly appointed leadership, remain focused, united, and steadfast in serving Malawians.

United Transformation Movement UTM is the third party to have a number of members of Parliament, as DPP and MCP top the parliamentary members’ contribution, respectively.
