People’s Party (PP) leader Joyce Banda is in Nkhotakota District as part of her whistle-stop tour aimed at encouraging citizens to vote for the party in the September 16 elections.

Banda, who is running with Khumbo Kachali as her running mate in the upcoming polls, addressed her first rally at the Dwangwa trading centre in the district.

The rally attracted crowds from surrounding communities, many eager to hear PP’s plans and promises ahead of the vote.

Speaking at the event, Gulupu Phangwa urged citizens to choose a leader they truly want.

He emphasised that one of the leaders worthy of their votes is Banda.

The gathering was marked by singing, dancing, and chants in support of the PP leadership.

She took the opportunity to highlight her party’s vision, focusing on economic empowerment, social protection programs, and rural development.

Khumbo Kachali also addressed the rally, stressing the importance of unity and grassroots mobilisation in securing electoral victory.

Both leaders pledged to return to Nkhotakota and other lakeshore areas before the election date to maintain momentum and connect with more voters.
