Former Flames striker Muhammad Sulumba has turned his focus from scoring goals on the pitch to building faith off it, after constructing a Masjid (Mosque) in Machinjiri Area 13, Blantyre.
Sulumba said the project was his way of giving back to the community that has supported him throughout his career. “Alhamdulillah, I have managed to build this facility as a way of giving back to the community,” he explained.
While announcing date for the official opening, Sulumba further extended an open invitation on Facebook, writing, “You are all invited, date is 5 September INSHAALLAH.”
The striker recently returned home from Libya after completing a six-month spell with Al-Naser Zliten, a second-tier side. His contract expired earlier this year and was not renewed, reportedly due to the club being restricted by foreign player quotas.
Known for his towering presence and physical style of play, Sulumba has previously featured for both FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, cementing his name as one of the most notable forwards of his generation.
