The countdown to Malawi’s most prestigious night in arts and entertainment has officially begun. The Maso Awards 2025 will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the renowned Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) Auditorium in Lilongwe.
According to Maso Awards Public Relations Officer, Memory Msatilomo, this year’s ceremony will shine a spotlight on the theme: “Wealth Creation Through Exporting Arts”, a powerful message celebrating the potential of Malawi’s creative industry to drive economic growth, unlock global opportunities, and empower local talent.
The evening will kick off with a star-studded Red Carpet event at 6:00 PM, followed by the highly anticipated Awards Show from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Now in its latest edition, the Maso Awards will feature 30 competitive categories, recognising excellence in music, film, and the performing arts. Some of the headline categories include: artist of the year (male), artist of the year (female), best new artist (male), best new artist (female), song of the year (gospel), song of the year (secular), best actor, best actress, best movie
Backed by a K48 million production budget, the 2025 Maso Awards promises a spectacular showcase with world-class staging, state-of-the-art lighting and sound, and unforgettable performances, setting a new benchmark for live entertainment in Malawi.
Nominations and voting dates will be announced soon, with both fans and industry professionals encouraged to participate in honouring the incredible talent shaping Malawi’s cultural landscape.
