NDP Zomba Malosa aspirant launches her manifesto to traditional leaders

The National Development Party (NDP) parliamentary aspirant for the Zomba Malosa constituency in the upcoming September 16 elections, Chikondi Lisimba Mpokosa, has launched his manifesto to the traditional leaders of Senior Group Village Headman Machinjiri’s area and surrounding communities.

Presenting her policy proposals at the playground of Lufani Primary School in Senior Chief Malemia’s area in Zomba District, Lisimba Mpokosa said that if elected in the upcoming election, she will ensure visible development such as the construction of school blocks, health centres, and initiatives to empower the youth and women.

She further stated that she will make sure that the health centres in the area are well-stocked with adequate medicine and that she will bring safe drinking water to improve access to clean water for the people.

On food security, the aspirant candidate said she will implement irrigation farming to enable people to harvest crops three times a year, aiming to ensure a sufficient food supply so that people can lead healthier lives.

Lisimba Mpokosa, who is also the vice president of the NDP and running mate to Frank Mwenifumbo in the September 16 elections, said that once her party forms government, it will ensure a reduction in the price of fertiliser to make it affordable for everyone, and also ensure that fertiliser is produced locally in Malawi.

She called on the people of Zomba Malosa to vote for her and Frank Mwenifumbo as the country’s leader to address hunger challenges and improve the livelihoods of Malawians economically.

“This country is not developing economically because the people elected into office lack vision and only enrich themselves. This time around, let us vote for the NDP so that it can solve the challenges we are facing,” She said.

Speaking during the meeting, one of the youth attendees, Chrissy Mbirintengerenji, said she would vote for Mpokosa because of his promising development plans for the Zomba Malosa area.

She encouraged fellow youth in the area to attend political rallies so they could listen to the policy proposals of competing candidates and be able to choose the right leaders.
