In an effort to deepen financial inclusion and promote the use of digital banking services in rural communities, FINCA Malawi has launched a new Mobile Banking Promotion dubbed “Transact and Win – Tikuoneni Kena Kake!”, which runs from 8th August to 30th September 2025.
The promotion aims to encourage both new and existing customers to adopt FINCA Mobile, a platform that allows users to perform transactions conveniently and securely from their mobile phones.
“So what we want to achieve is, for us, we would want our customers to use our FINCA Mobile,” said Takondwa Chirwa, FINCA’s Marketing Manager. “As you know, most of our customers are in rural areas, and it is very difficult for them to be going to the banks. So we want them to get used to using FINCA Mobile. We want them to be able to rely on FINCA Mobile.”
Chirwa emphasized the importance of building trust in the digital platform, especially among rural users who may be new to mobile banking. “We’re just here to ensure that our FINCA Mobile is safe, secure, and reliable.”
The promotional campaign follows a significant upgrade of the FINCA Mobile platform earlier this year in February 2025, which resolved several customer challenges. The improved system now enables users to perform interbank transfers to FDH, FCB, and NBS, pay utility bills, make wallet transfers, top up airtime, and repay loans — all from their mobile phones.
To qualify for the promotion, customers are required to make at least five transactions per week, including sending money, paying bills, checking balances, or buying airtime. Participants stand a chance to win cash prizes through monthly draws: MK500,000 for 1 customer, MK100,000 each for 5 customers, MK50,000 each for 10 customers
Chirwa called on customers to embrace the service, saying the promotion is not just about winning prizes but about transforming the banking experience. “It means saving time and transport costs, making safe, secure, and reliable transactions, and having access to more services,” she said.
