Political analysts have rated Balaka West MP Hon. Bertha Ndebele as one of the most promising running mates in Malawian politics, highlighting her extensive experience and education. As the running mate of Kondwani Nankhumwa, a presidential hopeful for the People’s Development Party (PDP), Ndebele is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections.
Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Malawi and a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Zimbabwe, she is exceptionally well-equipped for her political career.
Ndebele’s journey from education to diplomacy began as a secondary school teacher, where she dedicated a decade to shaping young minds.
In 2015, Ndebele served as Malawi’s Deputy Ambassador to Zimbabwe until 2018. After resigning, she returned to Malawi and contested the 2019 elections, successfully securing her seat as MP for Balaka West.
Since then, she has held significant roles, including Deputy Chief Whip and Chairperson of the SADC Organ of Social Services, reinforcing her commitment to regional cooperation and social welfare.
