Zambian evangelist Apostle Chileshe Shonga, who says she was divinely instructed to deliver a message, has called on Malawians to prepare for a “volcano-type revival,” a powerful spiritual awakening that will erupt from within and impact nations.

Speaking upon her arrival in Blantyre from Lusaka, Apostle Shonga, founder of Rehoboth Christian Church International, declared that Malawi is on the edge of a spiritual transformation that will shake foundations and liberate the nation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Malawi is about to experience the volcano type of revival,” she said. “And revival is not noise, it is a spiritual awakening, a renewal where the nation will experience God in their midst.”

While quoting Psalm 85:6; “Will you not revive us again, O Lord?” Apostle Shonga called on Malawians to rise with a hunger for God’s presence. “This is the cry Malawi should have — Lord, we are ready. Every person needs revival. The church needs revival. The nation needs revival. The body of Christ needs revival,” she emphasized.

Despite traveling in a wheelchair, the retired Zambian police officer and renowned televangelist said nothing could stop her from obeying God’s call. “I would have given an excuse and said, ‘Lord, I’m a person with a disability, I cannot manage to go to Malawi.’ But the Lord told me, ‘Go, I will go before you and remove every mountain.’ I am here to deliver this message.”

She challenged the church in Malawi to stop looking outside for help and take ownership of its own spiritual destiny. “We have seen this across Africa, people wait for foreign names and ignore what God is saying locally. But this time, I urge you: don’t wait. Work together as men and women of God. Where there is unity, God commands a blessing,” she said.

Her message was quickly affirmed by local faith leaders. Bishop Esnart Chafulumira of Union in Christ Church and Secretary General of the Pastors Peacemakers Fraternal (PPF) said the message aligns with earlier prophetic words Malawi has received.

“This message is very welcome. It reminds me of a woman of God from Kenya who came with a similar message. What Apostle Shonga is saying confirms what God already spoke. We will act on it,” said Chafulumira.
