The race for TNM Super League supremacy remains razor-thin as both FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers secured crucial away victories in midweek fixtures on Wednesday.

● Bullets dominate in Ekhaya reunion clash

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets strengthened their grip at the top of the table, moving to 27 points from 10 matches after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ekhaya FC.

The match, played under emotionally charged circumstances, saw Ekhaya field several former Bullets players and coaching staff, including head coach Enos Chatama and assistant Fundi Akidu—both of whom left Bullets Reserve at the start of the season.

Despite a resolute defensive setup by the hosts, the breakthrough came in the 58th minute when Nigerian striker Babatunde Adepoju nodded in a Henry Chiwaya freekick to seal all three points for the People’s Team.

● Nomads keep pace in Karonga

Second-placed Mighty Wanderers stayed hot on Bullets’ heels with a 2-0 win over bottom side Songwe Border United at Karonga Stadium, moving to 26 points from 11 matches.

The Nomads struggled to break the deadlock in a frustrating first half, despite facing a Songwe side yet to record a win this season.

However, Wisdom Mpinganjira finally broke through in the 55th minute, finishing off a well-placed pass from Promise Kamwendo.

Fourteen minutes later, Mpinganjira turned provider, setting up Blessings Mwalilino to double Wanderers’ lead and secure the win.

Songwe remain rooted to the bottom with just one point from 11 games and a league-worst 29 goals conceded.

● Bankers climb after narrow win

Reigning champions Silver Strikers also made ground in the title race, climbing from sixth to fourth with a 2-1 win over CRECK Sporting Club at Dimba Stadium.

Uchizi Vunga opened the scoring in the 14th minute, but a 60th-minute own goal from Nickson Mwase gave the hosts a lifeline.

The Bankers quickly responded, with Binwell Katinji restoring the lead in the 66th minute.

Silver now sit on 18 points from nine games, leapfrogging both Karonga United and Blue Eagles.

● KB and Civo share spoils in Dowa

Elsewhere, Kamuzu Barracks came from behind to draw 1-1 with Civo Service United in a Lilongwe derby played at Champion Stadium.

Dustan Banda converted a penalty in the 24th minute to put Civo ahead, but Olson Kanjira struck back for KB in the 71st to earn a point.

The draw leaves KB in 11th place with 12 points from 11 matches, while Civo climb from 14th to 12th, sitting on 10 points from 10 matches, overtaking both MAFCO FC and Mighty Tigers.
