After years of persistence and determination, Chimwemwe Idana has taken a significant step forward in his football career by joining Zambian Super League side Zanaco FC.
Silver Strikers Football Club has officially confirmed the departure of the 26-year-old midfielder following a successful three-year tenure marked by both individual brilliance and team success.
Idana now moves to Zanaco FC, one of Zambia’s premier football clubs, signaling his entry into the next stage of his professional journey.
Idana initially joined Silver Strikers on loan from Mbeya FC in February 2023. His impressive performances quickly earned him a permanent deal just four months later, in June 2023.
Known for his calm demeanor, technical ability, and intelligent playmaking, he became an integral part of the squad’s midfield engine and was instrumental in the club’s domestic achievements.
His final appearance for the Central Bankers came on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in a 3-1 victory over Karonga United.
Idana signed off with a goal and a Man of the Match performance—an emotional and fitting farewell to a club where he had become both a fan favorite and a team leader.
Throughout his time at Silver Strikers, Idana played a crucial role in securing the 2024 TNM Super League title and was subsequently named the club’s Player of the Season.
Wearing jersey number 44, he became a symbol of consistency and professionalism on and off the pitch.
“He came to Area 47, conquered, and left an indelible mark in the hearts of many,” read part of Silver Strikers’ official statement.
The club extended its deepest gratitude to Idana, wishing him continued success in his career.
As he begins this new chapter with Zanaco FC, Idana remains focused on performing at the highest level and contributing to the growth and success of his new team.
