Over a year since the tragic death of Malawi’s former Vice President Saulos Klaus Chilima, his widow, Mary Chilima, has shared a touching message of remembrance that has stirred emotions.
On Sunday morning, Mary shared a brief Facebook post that sparked an outpouring of emotion across social media, with hundreds of Malawians joining her in mourning and reflecting deeply on the late Vice President.
“My beloved Saulos Klaus Chilima, I keep waiting to wake up from this nightmare, koma ayi ndithu. I miss you constantly, my forever love… Love always.. your Mary.”
The tribute quickly drew hundreds of comments, with many Malawians echoing her pain and expressing how much they, too, miss the late Vice President.
“Your not the only one madam even me sometimes l just feel like azangotulukila,” commented Abiti Idrissu Payere.
Chilima alongside eight others died on June 10, 2024, in a plane crash in Chikangawa Forest, Mzimba when he was on board a Malawi Defence Force aircraft traveling to the funeral of former Malawi Attorney General Ralph Kasambara in Nkhata Bay.
