Mzuzu University is set to become the epicentre of youth entertainment this weekend, starting today, Friday, as the Mo626 Intercollege Social Weekend arrives in the Northern Region, with music heavyweights Patience Namadingo, Driemo, and Eli Njuchi ready to set the stage ablaze.
The event promises an unforgettable experience filled with music, dance, and youth-driven energy, offering students a brief escape from academic stress. Supporting acts like rising sensation 6TH MW are also set to electrify the moment.
The party doesn’t stop there, some of Malawi’s most celebrated DJs, including DJ Magic, DJ Classic, DJ Grant, and DJ Stephen, will take over the decks with high-energy sets guaranteed to keep the crowd on their feet throughout the night.
Students from Mzuzu University, University of Livingstonia (all campuses), Exploits University, and St. John of God College are expected to gather for the weekend, making it a major social convergence for Northern Region institutions.
Spearheading the event is National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc, which has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth development through such vibrant and creative platforms.
“At NBM plc, we believe the future of our country lies in the potential of its youth. That’s why we are proud to sponsor this year’s Social Weekend at Mzuzu University. Our investment goes beyond financial support; it’s about creating platforms that inspire, entertain, and connect students while recognising their creativity and energy.
“We want to be part of that journey to stand with the youth, to uplift their passions, and to support the vibrant campus life that shapes tomorrow’s leaders. We are excited to see the talent on display this weekend and are confident it will be a memorable experience for everyone involved,” said Akossa Hiwa, Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager for NBM plc.
Mzuzu University’s Entertainment Director, Shadreck Mlenga, applauded NBM for its continued investment in student life.
“Sponsorship from the NBM plc has brought a positive impact on the university since it will be a time where the colleges will be united and interact, and also refresh their minds from the pressure of academics at large,” said Mlenga.
The Mzuzu edition follows successful social weekends held in Blantyre and Lilongwe, continuing NBM’s series of events designed to celebrate and empower the country’s student population.
