Police at Kanengo in Lilongwe have arrested a 19-year-old husband and his 15-year-old partner for allegedly killing their colleague’s 6-year-old daughter after being promised 38 million Kwacha by some people.
This is according to public relations officer for Kanengo Police Station Sub Inspector Gresham Ngwira who identified the husband as Innocent Mbewe and his wife as Dorica Nkhoma who are suspected to have murdered Loyce Tembo aged 6.

On Monday, 23 October, 2023, police received information that the child had been buried in the suspects’ house at Chatata Village in the city where Tembo also stays.
It is reported that following the tip, officers went to the scene and upon arrival, they discovered a newly dug but wet wet pit with some flies on top.
This prompted police to dig it out and to their surprise, they found the dead body of Loyce put in a suck and in a decomposed state.
While still at the scene, the law enforcers received another tip that the suspects were seen at Area 24 in the city and police proceeded to the said place where they arrested the two suspects.
