Bullets lead in Super League gate collection revenue

TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets have emerged as top earners of gate revenue in the just ended season after they collected MK60, 530, 940 from the overall gross gate collection of K587, 549, 766, Malawi24 has learnt.

Super League of Malawi (Sulom) shared all the sixteen teams K226, 342, 141 from the gross collected, with Sports Council getting a chunk of K30, 541, 817.

Sulom and Football Association of Malawi shared K45, 278, 726 each whilst K107, 600, 036 was shared to various stadiums across the country.

The People’s Team collectected more than what their rivals Wanderers collected after the Lali Lubani boys made K36, 852, 964 from the gate revenue.

Silver Strikers are third with K20, 601, 940.

Dedza Dynamos, in their first season in the top flight football, have beaten twelve teams in revenue collection after they made K13, 202, 474, beating the likes of Blue Eagles, Kamuzu Barracks and Civil Service United who made K12, 812, 095, K10, 442, 661 and K9, 465, 060 respectively.

Surprisingly, Moyale Barracks are the lowest recipients of gate revenue after they made K4, 479, 069.

Karonga United made K8, 346, 596, with Rumphi United, Mafco FC, TN Stars and Mighty Tigers earning K7, 872, 314, K7, 678, 759, K7, 619, 659 and K7, 227, 949 in that order.

Revenue collected in the just ended season surpassed K78.5 million generated in the entire 2020/2021 season which was played in the middle Covid-19 pandemic which saw Malawi government restricting fans from watching games.
