Almost a year after quitting the UTM, revelations are now rife that politician Frank Mwenifumbo—who after being in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) returned to Alliance for Democracy (Aford)—is forming his own National Democratic Party whose funding is allegedly said to be sourced from South Africa.

Politician  Frank Tumpale Mwenifumbo has resigned from the UTM which is led by Vice President Saulos Chilima.

Mwenifumbo who was UTM spokesperson has announced his resignation in a letter that has been addressed to the party’s  Secretary General Patricia Kaliati.

According to Mwenifumbo, he explained to Chilima reasons for the resignation and Chilima  graciously accepted the resignation.

He added that in his consideration he delayed to announce the resignation on ethical and moral reasons due to the illness of the 2nd Lady Mary Chilima.

“I shall always be grateful and thankful to the President and the entire UTM Party for the support they  gave me during my membership and service.

“I intend to live a private life and concentrate on my businesses and farming at the village. l also do not, at the moment, intend to join any political party or participate in any political activity,” he explained.

Mwenifumbo has therefore requested the party’s office to arrange for an  orderly handover of party vehicles at any time.

Frank Mwenifumbo joined UTM in 2020 after leaving Alliance for Democracy (AFORD).
