Nyasa Big Bullets have pulled a fast on rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Silver Strikers by completing the signing of a promising midfielder Chawanangwa Gumbo from Ekwendeni Hammers.

The 20-year-old, who was a marvel to watch in his second stint with the Northern Region based side, signed on the dotted line on Saturday morning.

According to information sourced by Malawi24, Wanderers were the first to offer him a three-year deal before joined by The Central Bankers who were also interested to have him om board but the youngster opted for Bullets.

The Club statement read: “Nyasa Big Bullets is delighted to announce the signing of Chawanagwa Gumbo on a three-year contract.

“The 20-year-old finalized his move from Ekwendeni Hammers on Saturday, a few hours before The People’s Team host Dedza Dynamos in their closing match of the 2022 TNM Super League campaign.

Gumbo, who is more of an offensive midfielder, has made 20 Super League appearances this season in which he managed to score four times for the Hammers.

“Before joining Ekwendeni, Gumbo played for Sanwecka FC in Mzuzu, a team that also produced a trio of our stars Patrick Mwaungulu, Felix Demakude and Chikumbutso Salima,” said the statement.

He becomes the second signing for Kalisto Pasuwa in the month of November following the arrival of Maxwell Phodo a few weeks ago.
