…Dwangwa United, Mlatho Mponela share spoils…

Nyasa Big Bullets were in demolition mood as they wiped out Civil Sporting Club 6-0 in a TNM Super League match played at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The convincing victory sees the defending champions moving up to second in the standings, while the servants have dropped to fourth position having lost to Mighty Tigers on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead just after 58 seconds through Hassan Kajoke, who probably scored the quickest goal in the 2019 campaign when he nodded home from a Chiukepo Msowoya cross.

The visitors were nowhere near Bullets’ pace, who, through Mike Mkwate, Nelson Kangunje, Dalitso Sailesi and Chimango Kayira, dominated in the midfield.

The home side doubled their lead when Msowoya turned from a provider to a scorer when he smashed the ball past Kameza from a Gomezgani Chirwa’s low drive cross into the box.

The visitors were dealt with a massive blow when defender Damiano Kunje was stretchered off due to an ankle injury he sustained as he was attempting to stop Msowoya from scoring and he was replaced by John Dambuleni.

The defending champions were in no mood for jokes as they added their third goal through debutant Precious Sambani who headed past Civil’s goalie in almost similar fashion to the first goal, 3-0.

As the hosts were still celebrating Sambani’s goal, Kajoke completed his brace after receiving a good pass from Mike Mkwate to completely dash the visitors’ hopes of making a comeback.

Civil had to make another change before the half time, introducing Isaac Msiska for Willard Dickson.

In the second half, Bullets looked dangerous every time they pushed forward in search of more goals against the visitors who were shaky at the back.

Civil’s Raphael Phiri came close to reducing the affairs when his long range drive was safely handled by Ernest Kakhobwe.

Bullets made a double change when they brought in Peter Banda and Patrick Phiri for Kajoke and Sailesi.

Phiri’s impact was imminent as he scored Bullets’ fifth goal from Chirwa’s cross after Civil’s defense failed to clear the ball away from their area.

The visitors then made their final change when they introduced former Bullets forward Muhammad Sulumba Timothy Silwimba and it took more than 9 minutes for him to get involved as he was tightly marked by John Lanjesi’s led defense.

The servants were denied another chance when Msiska’s bicycle kick came off the woodwork when Kakhobwe was caught napping in the line of duty.

Substitute Righteous Banda then completed the riot with a header from a corner kick, making it 6-0 with less than ten minutes left on the clock.

The visitors tried to push for an equalizer but Bullets held onto their healthy lead in stoppage time and they emerged 6-0 winners on the day.

At Chitowe Stadium, Dwangwa United and Mlatho Mponela shared one point a peace following a 1-1 draw.

Mlatho’s Hassan Upindi got in the scoreline in the second half but the hosts came back into the game in the dying minutes when the visitors scored an own goal.

At Dedza Stadium, Masters Security and Silver Strikers played to a goalless draw while the game involving Kamuzu Barracks and Mzuni FC was postponed.
