Chakwera says he will unite Malawi


Malawi Congress Party (MCP) presidential candidate Dr Lazarus Chakwera has promised to unite Malawi if he wins Tuesday’s elections.

Chakwera made the remarks at Kamuzu Institute for Sports in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe during the final campaign rally.

According to Chakwera, he will work with everyone without looking at their race, tribe, religion or party.

Chakwera also promised all civil servants to expect better working conditions once he becomes president next week.

He added that the MCP government will revamp agriculture and ensure that the sector gets back to the level it was during the Kamuzu Banda regime.

Speaking at the rally, Former President Joyce Banda hailed Chakwera a God-fearing leader saying a president who drinks beer cannot make proper decisions.

Malawians will on Tuesday, 21st May 2019 vote for the next President, Members of Parliament (MPs) and Councillors.
