President Peter Mutharika will henceforth be overseeing all ministerial roles, the state house says.

The President who heads into the Tuesday poll against six others has landed the decision with the powers vested upon him by section 95(2) of the Constitution.

President Peter Mutharika: has dissolved cabinet

The statement signed by Chief Secretary to Government, Llyod Muhara says Mutharika will be exercising all the Ministerial tasks until ‘the appointment of a new cabinet’.

Muhara has since said a directive has been sent to members of the dissolved cabinet to consult the Chief Secretary to the Government for appropriate administrative arrangements.

In the poll, Mutharika who leads the DPP will be facing Atupele Muluzi of the UDF who apparently was in the dissolved cabinet as Health Minister.
