Malawi vice-president who is also the presidential candidate of the UTM, Saulos Chilima, says he will beat President Peter Mutharika in the elections come May 21.

Chilima made the remarks when he interacted with locals in several villages in Kasungu District during his whistle-stop tour on Saturday.

The vice president said he will be Malawi’s 6th President after May 21 Tripartite Elections and will bail Malawi out of poverty.

During the whistle stop meeting, Chilima thanked Kamuzu Banda for his good policies and development strategies claiming the late president is the one who really developed Malawi.
He further said when UTM ascends to power it will bring back the ‘lost glory’ to the once great nation with development all over the country.

“During the forthcoming elections, there will be only one winner and that winner is the one talking with you now. I will be the next Malawi President after May 21 2019 and ill be sworn in on the May 24. The time has come for all of us to change our country for the better.

“In these elections, there are three options to make; first, to go back to where we are coming from (Aiguputo ) second; to stay where we are and keep getting stuck in a rut or third, move to prosperity and the promised land where there is milk and honey for everyone,” said Chilima.

He further said once voted into power, UTM government will introduce universal access to cheaper fertilizer so that everybody can afford to buy fertilizer and he will re-introduce farmers club to improve Agriculture technologies and skills.

On Education, Chilima assured the people in the central region district, that he will build extra school blocks and teachers houses.

Chilima then called upon the people of Kasungu and Malawi as a whole to go and vote wisely on May 21st to ensure that all the thieves are duly ejected.

  1. i hate Mr Chilima’s pompous character, ngati akuzipopa chonchi asanawine nankha tikawapasa boma mmm big man weziwezi muli ndiphuma ndi utsogoleli, he is greedy with leadership

  2. Mr Chilima seems to contradict himself here….so it is only Kamuzu who developed Malawi, now the other he said we should not go back to Egypt or kwa iguputo as he puts it meaning we should not go back to the dark old MCP days……which is which?

  3. A dream that will not be realized. You would have been better off had you remained as DPP running mate. Now you are gone.
