Female officers from Limbe Police have donated items worth K200,00 to inmates at Mulanje prison.

The women officers were led by the Southern Region Police women network chairperson Micklina Medi who applauded the gesture by the Police officers and asked other people to do the same.

She went further to encourage the inmates to behave and interact well and put God first in whatever they do.

“You are not here for good, one day you will be back in the society and we are with you in prayers at this reformatory centre,” Medi said.

The station officer for Limbe Police Madam Msonkho (ACP) said the donated items were bought using money contributed by patriotic police women officers at the formation.

“We believe in sharing to the needy what we get on monthly basis, hence easy fulfilment of this initiative,” Msonkho explained.

She however said that they singled out Mulanje prison to make other well-wishers to realise that there are some prison facilities in rural areas which need assistance.

The prison Inspector Chrispine Msika thanked the visiting officers for the timely donation.
