President Peter Mutharika has pledged to build two stadiums for Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers, saying he is a staunch supporter of the two Blantyre based giants.

Speaking at Chirimba during his whistle stop tour in Blantyre on Sunday, Mutharika asked Blantyre City Council and Malawi National Council of Sports to allocate two sites for the construction of the two stadiums.

“I will build two stadiums for both Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers. I am a staunch supporter for the two teams and I would like to ask Blantyre City Council and Malawi National Council of Sports to allocate two sites where the stadiums will be built,” he said.

Apart from the two stadiums, Malawi government will also build a stadium at Njamba Freedom Park which will start in February this year.

The two teams, oldest in Malawi, have no stadiums despite enjoying massive fan base, with Bullets having a majority share of more than six million supporters.
