“We know we are up against it as we will be the underdogs in the league but we have the potential hence I’ve taken up this challenge,” he said.

He added that his experience of coaching in the Super League will go a long way in guiding the Lions of Chitipa to secure their league status.

“I know this league so I know what’s required to survive but to achieve this we will need a good team spirit and togetherness,” he articulated.

According to Chitipa United General Secretary Pickford Kamanga, Alex Ngwira’s track record of getting the best out of his squad was a contributing factors towards hiring his services.

Kamanga said the club was excited by the capture of Ngwira, a coach who was also wanted  by   Karonga United coaching job.
