Thugs on Monday night brutally murdered a person with albinism at his home in Nkhata-Bay.
The victim, Yasin Phiri aged 54 was murdered as he slept in his house with his 9 year old son at around 10 pm.
According to police, the criminals broke into the house through the window and stabbed Phiri to death right in his bedroom.
The boy who was sleeping in a separate room was warned not to shout.
The thugs then dragged Phiri’s body to a distance of about 20 metres where they chopped both his hands and heart before running away.
Brother to the deceased, John Banda, told police that two of the victim’s sons were at Kande for business while his wife had gone to her home village as the two had some marriage issues to sort out.
Post-mortem conducted at Chintheche Rural Hospital revealed that Phiri died of severe loss of blood.
Meanwhile, police in the region have instituted intensive investigations to apprehend the criminals.
They have further advised the general public to report to them or relevant authorities of suspicious people in their areas.
Phiri was from Mundiyeghe Village TA Fukamapiri in Nkhata-bay district.
