Seven arrested for kidnapping businessman’s son


Police have arrested seven people of Pakistan origin for kidnapping the son of a Malawian businessman.

The boy aged 5 was abducted at his home in Limbe on Tuesday. His father Mohammed Shail, 34, reported the matter to police.

Following investigations, the boy was found at Kanjedza Mosque in the commercial city.  The law enforcers have now arrested seven suspects.

They are  Hanza Akbar aged 23, Salman Khan aged 36,  Faraz Khan aged 24, Shazed Khan aged 22, Ibrahim Mataya aged 21, Fahim Azafer aged 30 and Lehras Khan, 25,.

Police have also seized a Toyota Fortuner registration number DZ 5044 which was used to kidnap the child from Mpingwe and a Volkswagen POLO registration Number CA 1658 which was used to drop the child at Kanjedza Mosque.

Meanwhile investigations are still underway to arrest more suspects in connection with the case.
