The function took place last week at the school campus and 250 students and teachers attended.

The police officers gave Halima a blanket worth K20,000.

Speaking to the gathering, chairperson for the female police officers lnspector Norah Chimwala congratulated Halima for proving to the world that a girl child can do even better than a male child.

“Let me urge you to maintain the hardworking spirit as you pursue your tertiary education. Where you will be going is a free world and teachers won’t be there to supervise you, so you need to remain focused,” she explained

She further advised and encouraged the rest of the students to do even much better.

“The world has become so competitive and MSCE is just a stepping stone therefore you need higher education attainment to make it in this world,” she said.

Halima thanked the officers for the gift saying it was a surprise to receive such a gift.

“I am humbled and this is unexpectedly especially from Police personnel. I promise to continue working hard on my studies and I am urging my fellow students to respect our teachers and follow my footsteps,” said she said.

Mangochi Police Women Network has been active in both charity and work related tasks that includes visits and donations, sensitization awareness and school outreach programs on child marriages and teenage pregnancies.
