Fisd Cup draw: Silver to host Civil as Blantyre giants get minnows

Silver Strikers will host rivals Civil Sporting Club in the Fisd Cup Round of 16 following a draw conducted on Tuesday.

The draw was conducted at Kamuzu Stadium at half time during the game between Mighty Be Forward Wanderers and Masters Security.

Blantyre giants Be Forward Wanderers were drawn against Dwangwa Town Hammers while Nyasa Big Bullets will face Mzamani FC of Ntcheu.

In another match, Northern Region league leaders Chitipa United will play Mafco.

Reacting to the draw, Chitipa United coach Robert Mziza said his side is prepared to face MAFCO and is confident of getting a good result during the game.

“My boys were expecting to meet such teams and believe me Chitipa will carry the day,” said Mziza.

In a separate interview, Mafco coach Tione Mhone said they are expecting to progress to the next round of the cup following the draw.

Chitipa United beat Mchengautuwa United to reach the national phase of the Fisd Challenge Cup.
