President Peter Mutharika maiden single Lozani Zanu has conquered Malawi music chart having been in the public domain for just a week.

The song in which the president features afro pop star Dan Lu, was unleashed on 20th August. It is a product of Dan`s Rockers Records.

Top the charts.

Lozani Zanu is a praise song for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader whose main target is second and final term of office.

As the tripartite elections are getting nearer, the song is one way of persuading voters.

In the song, the Sweet Banana hit maker cites Peter`s development projects in his four years of office. He also challenges the opposition to show Malawians their tangible developments.

The ruling party`s fanatics keep expressing satisfaction with the song regarding the way it was produced.

However some of Dan Lu`s fans have warned the musician on the possibility of ruining his music career, should he remain involved in politics. Some quarters believe the Blantyre based singer has fans who pledge allegiance to different political organisations.

As such, he risks losing those fans who do not support the ruling party. As the song clocks ten days, today, it continues to register downloads on Malawi music sites.

  2. Weldone Dan luu, I’m not dpp supporter, but if someone does great job we need to appreciate the good job like what dan luu did. Keep it up.

I prophecy, Dpp will rule again if opposition are not making alliance.

You need no choice of party is individual feeling. However don’t talk of youth by using all. Say yourself don’t like that party and that party. Things change and our may get surprise

  4. I think this guy must ask Nkasa how he was reduced to just another musician from a Celebrity status. We have the gurus in the Music Industry in Malawi but non has never ever reached a status which Mkasa reached. The day Mkasa made his interview with Patrick Kamkwatira at Power FORUM, he brought Blantyre to a standstill. In the rural areas people had batteries for their radios bought in advance just waiting for the interview day. I know Lucius Banda is a very successful Musician in Malawi but Mkasa reached a certain stage where his songs were being sung like National Anthems. BUT he crashed because of political praise projects so Dan must tread carefully, for the sake of his musical career but if he wants to go into politics full time then that is a total different ball game.

  7. You have demonstrated that you are a DPP diehard and we don’t have a problem with that but your music career has been diluted/polluted by DPP thievery image! Most of the youths now don’t like to hear/see or associated with DPP bad image! It’s a fact which some people may not like to hear! These projects highlighted in yo song ndi ndalama zathu Malawians pay through taxes! But you sing as if DPP bankrolled the projects! As for MCP they constructed many things in 30years including the state house where the current president sleeps, you can include it in the song!
