The development angered opposition lawmakers who have faulted the ruling party for favouring Thyolo district to benefit on tax-payers on social cash transfer.

Thyolo is the only district enjoying public resources on social cash transfer. In 2017/18 financial year government approved K1.5 million to be used in Thyolo district.

Meanwhile other districts under the program are supported by donor community and well-wishers.

Government has disclosed plans to have the program extended to other districts in the country.

Social cash transfer is the program that was introduced to help to less privileged people.
