Premier Bet Wizards kept alive their slim chance of remaining in the TNM Super League with a 4-1 win over Chitipa United at Karonga stadium on Saturday.

To survive, Wizards now need to win their remaining match while hoping Masters Security lose their two remaining matches.

Wizards: Surviving

Chitipa United gave a false hope to their supporters when the home side scored 22 minutes into the game through Alick Phiri.

Wizards’ Henry Chiwaya equalised before half time and the Blantyre based side never looked back.

In the second half, Wizards were awarded a penalty and they made it 2-1 through Misheck Botomani.

Patrick Phiri then scored Wizards’ third goal before Anzeru Joseph put the game beyond Chitipa’s reach with the fourth goal.

Premier Bet Wizard now have 27 points having played 29 games while Masters Security who lost 4-1 to champions Be Forward Wanderers have 28 points after 28 games.

Wizards will have to win today’s game against Moyale at Mzuzu Stadium to remain in contention for TNM Super League survival.

If they lose against the Lions of Kaning’ina, Wizards will be automatically relegated in the league.

Their relegation rivals Masters Security are remaining with games against Kamuzu Barracks and Nyasa Big Bullets.
