“I write to dismiss rumours flying around that I have been shot by thugs and that I am badly injured.

“I want to assure the nation that I am well and that no any life threatening incident happened neither to me nor to any member of my family,” Mia said.

The politician was campaigning for MCP candidate Lawrence Sitolo who is contesting in Nsanje Lalanje constituency in Tuesday’s by-election.

“We wrapped up our campaign on a very high note at Sorjin. Ladies and gentlemen; yours truly is at home with family, just very fine, in fact winding up mother’s day,” Mia said on Sunday.

Since joining of the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Mia has boosted profile of the party in Lower Shire which is maximizing hope of turning the area into MCP dominated area.
