It rained goals at Chitowe Stadium and Nankhaka Stadium as Nyasa Big Bullets and Blue Eagles hammered Dwangwa United and Chitipa United respectively to advance to the next round this season’s Fisd Cup.

Bullets were ahead as early as 10 minutes when in-form defender Emmanuel Zoya netted the opener from a corner after the hosts’ defence failed to clear the danger away.

Moments later, the Blantyre based giants almost doubled their tally when Nelson Kangunje struck a trademark powerful shot goal wards, but Dwangwa’s goalkeeper was equal to the task when he produced a wonderful save to deny the former Civil Service United midfielder.

However, with four minutes to go before the recess, the visitors increased their lead through Muhammad Sulumba following an exchange of passes in the middle of the park, 2-0.

The game was put beyond Dwangwa’s reach when Chiukepo Msowoya scored the third goal just three minutes into the second half.

At the other end, Jack Chiona had his moment of brilliance when he wrestled through past three Bullets defenders before releasing a powerful shot which was deflected outside for a corner by John Lanjesi.

Chances continued to accrue with Sulumba, Chiukepo, and Mkwate all coming close while Chiona had a great opportunity but was foiled by a stunning save from Rabson Chiyenda.

With less than 15 minutes to play, the home team reduced the arrears with a fantastic goal but their hopes of making a comeback were severely dented by Mike Mkwate who scored a stunning goal after receiving a million dollar cross from Fischer Kondowe.

With Bullets in cruise mode, they proceeded to play out the closing stages of the second half like a training session, playing keep ball against the helpless Dwangwa United side, 4-1 it ended.

At Nankhaka Stadium, Maxwell Salambura scored a brace to inspire Blue Eagles to a comfortable 4-1 win over struggling Chitipa United.

With just two minutes into the match, the visitors were behind with Stuart Mbunge’s opener before conceding again moments later when Salambura found the back of the net following a commotion inside Chitipa’s defence.

Eagles’ mission was completed in the second half when Vitumbiko Kumwenda and Salambura got on the scoresheet to progress to the next round of the competition.
